A pool with a dramatic view |

Katia'
s House stands on a hillside overlooking the tiny port of Kalamakia,
half way along the east coast of the island. The port is effectively the 'home' for five local families. The wives and daughters look
after the three waterfront tavernas, and the husbands and sons cast their
nets daily from their caiques to ensure a rich selection of fresh fish. The views from both the upstairs bedroom balcony and the downstairs
sitting room are dramatic: down to Kalamakia port and across the sea to
the islands of Peristera and Kyra Panagia.
A steep
pathway, shaded by tall pine trees, leads down from the house to the
port in two minutes; alternatively, a less precipitous walk along the
coastal road to the port takes five minutes. Katia's House is simply yet
comfortably furnished and is a romantic retreat for couples. If the
morning sun is strong there is a separate sitting area, to the side of
the house, shaded by a large umbrella pine overlooking the sea.
Kalamakia has no shops and we therefore recommend either car hire on
boat hire in order to reach the nearby port of Steni Vala, a ten-minute
journey by land on sea, where one can find two supermarkets and a good
selection of taverns and bars. Katia's House offers a simple escape from
the crowds above a sleepy and peaceful fishing port.
ACCOMMODATION Each
house has an upper
floor of one double bedroom leading to sea-facing balcony, bathroom with
shower. Stairs down to small sitting room leading to sea-facing terrace;
shower room; outside access via terrace to simple kitchen. Car
hire and Boat hire are recommended

| On arrival at your villa we provide a welcome pack of a bottle
of wine, fruit juice and mineral water, coffee, tea, sugar, milk,
jam, butter, bread and biscuits. We will, if you wish, place a hamper
in your villa before your arrival.
A maid will clean your villa, make beds and wash up twice weekly.
Extra cleaning can be arranged on request. Extra bed, baby cot and
high chair may be provided on request. With advanced notice it is
normally possible for our office to obtain babysitters during reasonable
and pre-arranged hours.
In each of our villas, you will find a map of Alonnisos and a folder
including helpful local information about doctors, buses, shops,
taverns, activities etc. Our office is open 7-days a week for information
and your help. A representative of our office will visit the villa
once or twice a week. |

| Clients will be met on arrival by office staff and taken by taxi
or mini bus to their villa. We are also able to arrange a 'meet
and greet' service on arrival at Skiathos airport organized by our
local representative, including taxi transfer to Skiathos port and
onward tickets to Alonnisos. |
